BIRDS OF OTTER TARN AND NEAR BYE, APRIL-MAY 2017
The photographs in this gallery were taken between late April and early May 2017. All bar a few of them were taken very close to Otter Tarn. The exceptions were the Reed Bunting and the Tree Pipit and even then poorer quality photos of both species were seen and photographed at and around Otter Tarn.
Some of the smaller birds spent a lot of time singing and calling. The highlight, perhaps, was the Whitethroat which posed patiently for photos - and as such received special coverage. But, a word of warning. It is not always easy to separate Chiffchaffs from Willow Warblers and I might well have made some mistakes. A few of the photos received the dreaded ‘z’ and as usual are included only for ‘record’ purposes. Hopefully, in the not too distant future, we shall again get in to Otter Tarn and add to our list of birds species as well as seeing more wild life generally - including the Otters.
Further details of Otter Tarn can be found by going to the ‘Other’ drop-down menu.
