ODDS, MEDIUM TO LARGE BIRDS – 26 species [v18.12, 72 additions]
This is one of 14 galleries into which photos of specific birds may be lodged. In alphabetical order they are: 1-‘Ciconiiformes’ (large waders etc.); 2-‘Corvids, Starlings, Doves, Pigeons’; 3-‘Finches, Buntings, plus’; 4-‘Gulls and Terns’; 5-‘Larks, Thrushes, Woodpeckers’; 6-‘Odds, medium to large’; 7-‘Odds, small to medium’; 8-‘Pipits, Wagtails, Hirundines, Swifts’; 9-‘Raptors including Owls and Vultures’; 10-‘Sea Birds and similar‘; 11-‘Tits, Warblers, and similar’; 12-‘Waders A to R’; 13-‘Waders S to Z’; and 14-‘Wild Fowl including Swans’. As usual there are a few poor photos that are there for record purposes only. The explanatory text that goes with the Home Page gallery will be revised accordingly.
V16.08 ADDITIONS: No new species. Most of the photos result from a trip to SW Florida in January 2016 namely: Anhinga 6-9, American Coot 12-14, Magnificent Frigatebird 21-23, Boat-tailed Grackle 5-8, Common Grackle 3-4, and Northern Mockingbird 4-8. From SW Portugal in June 2016: Coot 5-6, and Moorhen 12-15.
V16.11 ADDITIONS: Two photos of Moorhen (16-17) and 3 of Purple Swamphen (13-15) taken on recent trip to Portugal.
V18.02 ADDITIONS: No new species. Photos as follows. 6x Coot (15-20) Algarve; 7x Moorhen (18-24) mostly Algarve; 4x Ring-necked Parakeet (6-9); 3x Common Pheasant (7-9); and 7x Purple Swamphen (16-22) Algarve.
V18.12 ADDITIONS: No new species. Photos with file numbers [72] follow: Anhinga (10-21); Smooth-billed Ani (07-24); Common Crane (6-9); Mangrove (5-9); and Purple Swamphen (23-55).
