ISLE OF MULL AND OBAN, MAY 2016 and MAY 2018
All the photographs in this gallery were taken during one of two holidays on the Isle of Mull and Oban, Scotland. Both were in May, one in 2016 and the latest in 2018. To get from the mainland to the island we took a ferry from Oban to Craignure (on the east of the island).
The 2016 holiday was centred (for our week’s stay) on the bay of Calgary - well to the north west of the island. We had a few outings to Tobermory, a guided birding trip on the north-west side of the island and a boat trip.
For the 2018 holiday we spent the first two days in Fionnphort to the extreme south-west side of Mull. From there we had a boat trip to Staffa Island (to see the Puffins and other birds) and Iona. We then drove north to Calgary where we stayed for a week. Mull is a beautiful island (particularly when the sun gets out) and both the journey from Craignure to Fionnphort and the onward trip to Calgary were stunning.
