WADERS, SMALL and MEDIUM, S to Z - 24 species [v18.12, 135 additions]
This is one of 14 galleries into which photos of specific birds may be lodged. As usual there are a few poor photos that are there for record purposes only. The explanatory text that goes with the Home Page gallery is being be revised accordingly.

V18.02 ADDITIONS: 5x Sanderling (5-9) SW Florida except last, Algarve; 2x Common Sandpiper (11-12) Algarve; 2x Least Sandpiper (09-10) SW Florida; 2x Semipalmated Sandpiper (8-9) SW Florida; 1x Spotted Sandpiper (11) W Canada; 1x Snipe (08) Algarve; 8x Turnstone (13-20) all Algarve except 14&15 SW Florida; and 4x Whimbrel (16-19) Algarve.
V18.12 ADDITIONS: No new species. Additions as follows with file numbers: Sanderling (10-17); Common Sandpiper (13-23); Black-winged Stilt (05-31); Turnstone (21-24); Black Turnstone (4-5); Whimbrel (20-39); Willet (10-44); and Greater Yellowleg (10-38).
N.B. The coverage of the Black-winged Stilt is still available in its ‘single species’ gallery. That gallery, which used photos up to 2013, illustrated how the birds progressed from eggs to protective measures. The photos in this gallery are more recent, roughly from 2016 to 2018.
