TITS, WARBLERS and SIMILAR – 39 species [v18.11, 90 additions]
This is one of 14 galleries into which photos of specific birds may be lodged. In alphabetical order they are: 1-‘Ciconiiformes’ (large waders etc.); 2-‘Corvids, Starlings, Doves, Pigeons’; 3-‘Finches, Buntings, plus’; 4-‘Gulls and Terns’; 5-‘Larks, Thrushes, Woodpeckers’; 6-‘Odds, medium to large’; 7-‘Odds, small to medium’; 8-‘Pipits, Wagtails, Hirundines, Swifts’; 9-‘Raptors including Owls and Vultures’; 10-‘Sea Birds and similar‘; 11-‘Tits, Warblers, and similar’; 12-‘Waders A to R’; 13-‘Waders S to Z’; and 14-‘Wild Fowl including Swans’. As usual there are a few poor photos that are there for record purposes only. The explanatory text that goes with the Home Page gallery will be revised accordingly.
V16.05 ADDITIONS. 3 Cetti’s Warbler and 2 Sardinian Warbler
V16.08 ADDITIONS. No new species. Fan-tailed Warbler 11-12 and Reed Warbler 6-9 were taken on trip to S Portugal, June 2016. Remaining 11 photos namely: Goldcrest 4-5; Coal Tit (britannicus) 6; Great Tit 9-11; Long-tailed Tit 6-7; Reed Warbler 5; Willow Warbler 7; and Wren 5-7 have been included as the result of a review of the pre-v16.05 gallery.
V16.09 ADDITIONS. No new species. Six photos of Chiffchaffs 05-10. Norton Fitzwarren, Somerset.
V16.11 ADDITIONS. Two new species namely Subalpine Warbler (01-03) and Yellow-browed Warbler (01-05). Also 8 new photos of Iberian Chiffchaff (05-12) and 2 photos of Willow Warbler (8-9). All taken on recent trips to Portugal.
V17.04 ADDITIONS. No new species. One each of: Coal Tit ‘ater’ (5); Crested Tit (7) and Willow Tit (6). Photos taken in Arosa, Switzerland March 2017.
V18.01 ADDITIONS. No new species, quite a few as a result of old collections. Additions follows: 2x each of Blackcap (05-06); Pied Flycatcher (3-4); Spotted Flycatcher (5-6); and Goldcrest (6-7) – all pre 2017. 5x Blue Tit (06-10); 2x Coal Tit, ‘ater’ most Europe (6-7); 2x Coal Tit ‘britannicus’ Britain (7-8); 2x Crested Tit (8-9); 5x Great Tit (12-16); 4x Long-tailed Tit (08-11), 2x Fan-tailed Warbler [Zit Cis] (13-14); 2x Reed Warbler (10-11); 3x Willow Warbler (10-12); 1x Wood Warbler (3); 5x Whitethroat (06-10).
V18.11 ADDITIONS. No new species. Substantial additions in some areas, especially for the Coal, Crested, and Willow Tits all of whom showed very nicely.
